What are the effects of axis misalignment on RV worm gear reducer

Misalignment of the axis will directly damage the meshing accuracy and force balance of the RV reducer, causing chain problems such as vibration and increased wear, seriously shortening the equipment life. The core impacts are as follows:
1. Intensify the wear and failure of core components

Uneven force distribution on the mating surface between the input/output shaft and the bearing leads to a sudden increase in local pressure, resulting in premature pitting and peeling of the bearing raceway and balls, and even bearing jamming.

The meshing clearance between the cycloidal gear and the needle teeth is abnormal, changing from uniform contact to local biased meshing, accelerating the wear rate of the tooth surface, and may also cause damage such as tooth surface adhesion and angular collapse.

Transmission components such as cross shafts and eccentric sleeves are subjected to additional bending moments, which can lead to deformation and fatigue cracks over time, ultimately resulting in transmission failure.

2. Causing vibration and noise, affecting operational stability

Misalignment will generate periodic additional forces, driving the gearbox body to vibrate. The vibration frequency is related to the speed and may also resonate with the equipment, amplifying the vibration amplitude.

Abnormal meshing and component impact can produce sharp noise, which increases with the degree of misalignment. At the same time, vibration can be transmitted to the entire machine, affecting the operational accuracy of supporting equipment.

3. Reduce transmission accuracy and efficiency

The core advantage of RV reducers is high-precision transmission. Misalignment of the axis can lead to transmission ratio deviation and increased return error, which cannot meet the positioning requirements of precision equipment such as robot joints.

Extra additional force and friction can cause energy loss, significantly reduce transmission efficiency, and be accompanied by excessive local temperature rise, further accelerating lubricant deterioration and component aging.

4. Destruction of sealing performance and risk of oil leakage

The vibration and deformation caused by misalignment can affect the fit of the box joint surface and the shaft end seal, leading to wear, deformation, or loosening of the seal.

After the seal fails, the internal lubricating oil is prone to leakage, which not only causes insufficient lubrication, but also may pollute the working environment and cause secondary problems such as equipment corrosion.
