Method for Handling Lubrication System Malfunctions of Hard Tooth ZFY250-125-I Cylindrical Gear Reducer

Common faults in the lubrication system of the hard tooth ZFY250-125-I cylindrical gear reducer include high oil temperature, abnormal oil level, insufficient oil pressure, and deterioration of oil quality. The following are the troubleshooting methods for these faults:


Oil temperature too high

Check the heat dissipation conditions: Check if there is sufficient ventilation space around the reducer to ensure good heat dissipation. If the ambient temperature is too high, consider adding heat dissipation devices such as installing fans or cooling water pipes.

Check the oil level and quality: Ensure that the oil level in the gearbox meets the requirements and avoid excessive or insufficient oil. At the same time, check if the oil quality is good, such as if the oil has deteriorated or impurities have been mixed in. If there are any problems, replace the oil with new oil in a timely manner.

Check the working condition of gears and bearings: Poor gear meshing, bearing damage, and other issues may cause increased friction and increase oil temperature. It is necessary to check the wear condition and meshing clearance of the gears, as well as the clearance and wear degree of the bearings. If there is any damage, it should be replaced in a timely manner.

Abnormal oil level

Low oil level: First, check for any oil leakage, such as damaged oil seals, broken oil pipes, or inadequate sealing of the box joint surface. After finding the oil leakage point, repair or replace the seals, oil pipes, etc. according to the specific situation. Then add an appropriate amount of lubricating oil to the normal oil level.

High oil level: High oil level may be caused by excessive refueling or high oil temperature leading to oil expansion. You can drain the oil appropriately to lower the oil level to the normal range. At the same time, check if the oil temperature is normal. If the oil temperature is too high, follow the above methods to troubleshoot and solve it.

Insufficient oil pressure

Check the oil pump: Check whether the oil pump is working properly, whether there is wear, jamming or damage. If there are any problems, repair or replace the oil pump in a timely manner. At the same time, check the driving device of the oil pump, such as the motor, coupling, etc., to ensure its normal operation.

Check the oil circuit: Clean the blockages in the oil circuit, such as filter blockages, oil pipe blockages, etc. Regularly replace the filter element to ensure the effectiveness of oil filtration. Check whether the oil pipe is cracked, bent, etc. If there is any damage, replace or repair it in a timely manner.

Check the oil valve: Confirm whether the oil valve is opened normally and whether the valve core is stuck or worn. If there is a malfunction, repair or replace the oil valve to ensure smooth oil flow.

Deterioration of oil quality

Regular oil change: According to the instructions of the reducer, regularly change the lubricating oil. In general, a new gearbox should undergo its first oil change after running for a period of time (such as 200-300 hours), and then change the oil at regular intervals (such as 2000-3000 hours) thereafter.

Strengthen filtration: Install appropriate filters, regularly clean or replace filter cartridges to prevent impurities, moisture, and other contaminants from entering the oil. During refueling and oil change, make sure to use clean tools and containers to avoid contaminating the oil.

Prevent oil contamination: Check the sealing condition of the gearbox to prevent impurities such as dust, moisture, and metal shavings from entering the oil tank. If any leakage is found in the box, repair the seal in a timely manner to prevent external pollutants from entering.
