How to determine whether there is a shortage of oil through the noise and vibration of KAF57-2.2-19.34 reducer
When the gearbox is short of oil, there is usually a significant increase in noise and abnormal vibration. Based on the operating characteristics of the KAF57-2.2-19.34 model, it is possible to quickly and preliminarily determine whether there is a shortage of oil through "sound recognition" and "tactile vibration judgment".1、 Listen: Judging the possibility of oil shortage through noise characteristics
When the lubrication of KAF57-2.2-19.34 reducer is insufficient, the friction between internal gears and bearings intensifies, resulting in typical abnormal noise:
Continuous buzzing sound: most commonly caused by poor lubrication or insufficient oil, especially when the sound intensifies during load operation. If the oil film ruptures, dry friction between metals will cause resonant low-frequency noise.

Sharp "piercing sound" or high-frequency "hissing" sound: indicating severe oil shortage in the bearing area, lubrication failure leading to dry grinding of the raceway, often accompanied by temperature rise.
The noise intensifies with increasing temperature: the normal operating oil temperature is about 50-60 ℃. If it exceeds 80 ℃ and accompanied by abnormal noise, it is highly likely to be caused by frictional heating due to lack of oil.
2、 Touch: Confirm through vibration and temperature rise assistance
The body vibration is obvious: lack of oil causes uneven friction of transmission components, leading to increased vibration. If the effective value of vibration speed exceeds 4.5mm/s, be alert to the risk of mechanical damage.
Touching the outer shell makes it hot: After stopping the machine, touch the gearbox body and bearing end cover with your hand. If the temperature is significantly higher than room temperature (>70 ℃), it may be due to insufficient lubrication causing overheating.
Loose feeling of foundation or coupling: Although vibration may also be caused by installation problems, lack of oil will amplify the vibration amplitude. When there is a "tingling" feeling when touching the box, comprehensive investigation is needed.
3、 Check: Quick on-site inspection method
Check the oil level: Check the oil level through the dipstick or oil window, and the oil level should be in the range of 1/2 to 2/3. If it is below the lowest mark, it is a lack of oil.
Observing oil quality: If the oil turns black, turbid, or contains impurities, it indicates that the oil has deteriorated and the lubrication function has decreased.
Monitoring operating current: If the motor current continues to exceed the rated value by 110%, it may be due to increased resistance at the load end caused by a lack of oil.
