What are the preventive measures for abnormal clearance of bearing components in P series reducers
1、 Scientific matching between design and selection stagesDynamic matching of clearance level: The selection of clearance cannot be a one size fits all approach, and must be comprehensively considered based on actual working conditions. For high-speed and high-precision equipment, a smaller clearance (such as C2) can be used to improve rigidity; In high-temperature environments or conditions with interference fit, the expansion of the inner ring will compress the clearance, and a larger clearance (such as C3 or C4) should be selected for compensation to avoid dry friction jamming caused by the downstream clearance returning to zero in the hot state.
Choose high-precision bearings: Priority should be given to high-precision bearings of P4 level or above, with a clearance of only about 30% of ordinary bearings, which can effectively control the overall clearance. At the same time, the bearings need to be pre tightened to reduce clearance fluctuations during operation.
Considering the risk of material defects: In critical or heavy-duty applications, it is recommended to use vacuum degassed steel or bearings treated with plasma nitriding to improve surface hardness and prevent fatigue spalling caused by metallurgical defects such as internal segregation of materials under alternating loads.
2、 Standardized operation of installation and assembly processes
Violent assembly is strictly prohibited: The bearing clearance is usually controlled at the micrometer level, and any rough operation (such as direct hammering) will cause micro indentation on the raceway. Special tools such as hydraulic nuts should be used for axial compression, and laser alignment instruments should be used to ensure concentricity meets the standard.
Standardized pre tightening force control: During assembly, it is necessary to use a torque wrench and a feeler gauge to accurately apply the specified pre tightening force. Insufficient pre tightening can lead to shaft misalignment, while excessive pre tightening can cause the bearing to heat up and quickly fail.
Run in test after assembly: After assembly, a run in test of at least 2 hours is required to verify the rationality of clearance and pre tension, and to eliminate human errors and structural looseness issues during assembly.
3、 Operation monitoring and systematic maintenance
Lubrication status management: Lubrication failure is the primary cause of bearing damage. Lubricating oil/grease of the specified model must be added according to the standard, and mixing different brands is strictly prohibited. For heavy-duty or high-speed equipment, it is recommended to use an oil air mixed lubrication system and install temperature sensors to monitor the lubrication status in real time.

Sealing and pollution prevention: In dusty or humid environments, a high protection level (such as IP65 or above) shell or magnetic fluid seal should be installed to prevent micron sized particles or moisture from entering and damaging the lubrication state.
Preventing electrical corrosion damage: For servo systems using PWM speed regulation technology, it is necessary to install carbon brush grounding devices or use insulated bearings to prevent shaft voltage from penetrating the lubricating grease and forming arcs, which can cause electrical corrosion of the raceway.
Predictive maintenance: Establish a "design manufacturing operation and maintenance" full lifecycle management system. By using vibration analyzers, infrared thermal imagers, and oil spectrum analysis, regular collection of spectrum and temperature data is achieved to shift from "post maintenance" to "predictive maintenance" and detect abnormal clearance or wear signs in advance.
