What are the precautions for installing WPDX155-60 worm gear reducer
1、 Preparation before installationEquipment verification: Verify the nameplate parameters to confirm that the model is WPDX155-60. Check that the tin bronze worm gear and 45 # steel worm gear are not damaged or corroded during transportation, and that the motor flange, seals, anchor bolts, and other accessories are complete.
Environmental cleaning: Keep the installation site dry and ventilated, remove oil stains and welding slag from the foundation surface, reserve sufficient heat dissipation and maintenance space, and avoid harsh working conditions with high dust and corrosive gases.
Tool verification: Prepare specialized tools such as a 0.02mm/m level, laser alignment instrument, torque wrench, etc. to ensure measurement accuracy meets installation requirements.
2、 Foundation and installation fixation
Foundation strength requirements: C30 or above grade concrete foundation should be used, with a bearing capacity of more than 3 times the total weight and operating load of the equipment. The thickness of the foundation should be ≥ 200mm to avoid resonance during operation.
Levelness control: Use a level to detect the installation surface, with a levelness error of ≤ 0.1mm/m, a contact surface roughness Ra of ≤ 3.2 μ m, and a contact area of ≥ 75%. If necessary, use wedge-shaped shims to assist in leveling.
Bolt tightening specification: Tighten the foundation bolts evenly in three diagonal steps, and the final tightening torque of M16 bolts should reach 280N · m. It is strictly prohibited to tighten them in one go, which may cause deformation of the box.
3、 Axis alignment and connection
Coaxiality calibration: Laser centering instrument is used to calibrate the motor shaft and gearbox input shaft, with radial deviation ≤ 0.02mm and angular deviation ≤ 0.02 °, in compliance with ISO11342 standard, to avoid abnormal wear of the tooth surface caused by additional loads.
Key points for flange assembly: Apply butter evenly on the inner hole wall and keyway of the worm head to prevent rusting of the shaft hole due to tight assembly. Connect the motor and reducer naturally to ensure that the outer flanges of the two are completely parallel.
Output shaft protection: When installing the output shaft vertically downwards, it is strictly prohibited to apply radial force on the shaft extension. Transmission components such as sprockets and gears should be installed as close to the bearings as possible to reduce bending stress during shaft extension.

4、 Lubrication and sealing configuration
Lubricating oil selection and filling: When the ambient temperature is between 20-40 ℃, VG220 worm gear special oil should be selected. The oil level should be controlled within ± 5mm of the centerline through the oil level window. Mixing different grades of lubricating oil is prohibited.
Sealing system inspection: Apply compatible silicone grease to the lip of the double lip skeleton oil seal of the input and output shaft to ensure that the perpendicularity between the oil seal and the shaft is ≤ 0.05mm. The joint surface of the box body is double sealed with anaerobic adhesive and metal wrapped gasket to prevent oil leakage.
Installation of breathable cap: Properly configure IP66 breathable cap, balance the pressure difference inside and outside the box ≤ 0.5kPa, and avoid sealing leakage caused by positive pressure due to oil temperature rise during vertical installation.
