What impact will bearing damage have on the performance of WPWDKO60-40 worm gear reducer

Bearing damage will have the following effects on the performance of WPWDKO60-40 worm gear reducer:
Abnormal performance during operation

Abnormal noise: When the bearing is damaged, the reducer will make irregular or continuous sounds, such as "rustling" friction sound or "clanging" impact sound.

Increased vibration: Bearing wear or jamming can cause the output shaft to rotate unevenly, with a significant increase in vibration amplitude, which may lead to loosening or fatigue damage of related components such as couplings and bearings.

Abnormal temperature rise: The bearing part heats up significantly. If the oil temperature exceeds 80 ℃ or an increase in copper powder is found in the oil, the machine should be stopped immediately for maintenance.

Component damage and chain reaction

Shaft system failure: Bearing "shaft holding" can cause the output shaft to jam, and may also cause the worm shaft to jam, resulting in "shaft system double jamming".

Wear of mating surface: The inner ring and output shaft of the bearing, as well as the outer ring and the housing hole, are worn due to sliding friction, resulting in deformation of the shaft neck or housing hole. New bearings can only be installed after repair.

Lubrication system pollution: Metal debris generated by bearing wear mixed into lubricating oil, exacerbating secondary wear of components such as tooth surfaces and bearings, and potentially blocking oil circuits.

Safety and efficiency risks

Decreased bearing capacity: Bearing damage can reduce the bearing capacity of the gearbox, and heavy-duty equipment may cause safety accidents due to transmission failure (such as heavy objects falling).

Reduced transmission efficiency: Increased vibration and friction can lead to increased energy loss, severe equipment heating, and further accelerate lubrication failure.

Suggestion: Regularly check the condition of bearings, establish a lubrication and maintenance system, replace bearings promptly if any abnormalities are found, and clean the lubrication system.
