Construction characteristics and locking capacity of worm gear reducer

The composition and characteristics of the worm gear reducer include the characteristics of the lock, which will be analyzed and explained by Xiao Bian.


In fact, for many large equipment, planetary gear reducers are often used. If there is a worm in the reducer, there will be a worm gear, so the worm gear reducer is just a colloquial name for the worm gear reducer. But generally speaking, people prefer to call worm gear reducer worm gear reducer.


The following sections describe some characteristics of the lower worm gear reducer:


In order to obtain a large transmission ratio, the two closely connected gear mating surfaces of the interweaved shaft helical gear arrangement are overlapped and touched, so that the load can exceed the interweaved shaft helical gear arrangement.


The worm drive of the worm gear reducer is simply a spiral drive, which is a multi tooth meshing drive. Therefore, the drive is stable, the noise is relatively small and has the ability of self-locking. When the lead angle of the worm is less than the equivalent between the meshing gear teeth, there is a conflict. When the worm is arranged, it also has self-locking ability, which can achieve reverse self-locking. It can only drive the worm through the worm, not through the worm. Just like the self-locking worm arrangement used in heavy machinery, its reverse self-locking capacity can complete the maintenance effect.


When the transmission efficiency of worm gear reducer is relatively low, the friction condition is relatively serious. In the process of transmission by meshing the worm and gear, the sliding is relatively fast, so the loss is relatively large and the energy efficiency is relatively weak.


In addition, the relatively high sliding speed leads to the serious friction condition of the tooth surface and the constant heating. In order to prevent heating and reduce the loss caused by friction, the materials with higher price, which have better friction reducing performance and better anti friction ability, and the materials with advantages in lubrication are often selected, but the cost is high.
