What safety precautions should be taken when adding gear oil to the ZFY250-140 reducer
1、 Safety confirmation before refuelingThe machine must be shut down and the power must be cut off: hang a "Do Not Close" warning sign to prevent accidental start-up or power on.
Wait for the oil temperature to drop to a safe range: it is generally recommended to lower the shell temperature to around 40 ℃ before operation; It is not recommended to drain or add oil when the oil temperature exceeds 60 ℃.
Wear protective equipment: Wear oil resistant gloves, protective goggles, and non slip shoes; Avoid scalding or slipping caused by hot oil or oil stains.
Clean up the work area: remove flammable materials and keep the ground clean; Place a drain pan below the oil outlet to prevent oil from overflowing.
Confirm that the pressure in the oil chamber has been released: When opening the oil filling port, oil level plug or vent cap, do not face the opening directly to avoid residual pressure causing oil splashing.
2、 Precautions for refueling process
It is strictly prohibited to refuel during operation: the gearbox must be refueled in a stationary state.
The oil type is based on the equipment nameplate/instruction manual: ZFY series usually belongs to hard tooth surface gear reducers and is commonly used as industrial closed gear oil with extreme pressure additives. However, viscosity cannot be determined solely based on experience, and the original factory requirements need to be checked.
Different brands and types of oil products should not be mixed: the old oil should be drained before changing the oil; If necessary, rinse with a small amount of new oil before refilling.
New oil needs to be cleaned: clean the dust and oil around the oil injection port before refueling; When conditions permit, add through a filter screen or filtering device to prevent iron filings and moisture from entering the box.
Control refueling speed and oil level: Slowly add fuel to prevent the formation of bubbles; The oil level is generally indicated by the oil window or oil level plug, and is usually maintained around 1/2 to 2/3. Please refer to the instruction manual of the specific model for details.
Do not top up: Excessive oil level can increase oil agitation loss, cause temperature rise, seal leakage, and even damage to the oil seal.
Check the sealing components and breathable cap: the oil drain plug, oil level plug, and oil filling gasket should be intact; Breathable caps must be unobstructed and cannot be replaced with solid plugs.
3、 Test machine inspection after refueling

First, manually turn the wheel: confirm that it rotates smoothly, without any jamming or abnormal noise.
Low speed test run without load: observe oil level, temperature, noise, and vibration; Check if there is any leakage at the oil drain port, oil level port, and joint surface.
Recheck the oil level after operation: Once the oil level stabilizes, if it drops, it should be replenished; If the oil level is too high, excess oil should be extracted.
Waste oil should be treated as hazardous waste: do not dump it randomly, and hand it over to qualified units for recycling.
