What should you pay attention to when selecting FAD series planetary reducers in high temperature environments?
When selecting FAD series planetary gearboxes in high-temperature environments, in addition to conventional parameters such as torque and speed, special attention must be paid to the additional challenges brought by high temperatures. The following are several key aspects to pay attention to when selecting:1. Adjust the safety factor
High temperature environment can affect the performance of lubricating oil and the strength of materials, so it is necessary to increase the safety factor to ensure the reliability of the gearbox.
When the ambient temperature is above 60 ℃, it is recommended to increase the safety factor by 0.3~0.6 on the basis of the conventional operating conditions.
The formula for calculating the selected torque should be: selected torque=actual load torque x impact coefficient x comprehensive safety factor.
2. Choose high-temperature resistant lubricating oil
Lubricating oil is the key to the normal operation of the gearbox, and its viscosity will decrease at high temperatures, affecting the lubrication effect.

Oil selection: It is necessary to choose temperature resistant lubricating oil specially designed for high temperature working conditions.
Oil taboo: It is strictly prohibited to mix different brands and models of lubricating oil for use.
Oil level check: Ensure that the oil level is between 1/2 and 2/3 of the oil gauge to ensure sufficient lubrication and heat dissipation.
3. Confirm the protection and heat dissipation design
High temperature environments may be accompanied by dust, humidity, and other issues, while the cooling of the gearbox itself also faces challenges.
Protection level: Choose a model with a higher protection level, such as IP65 or higher, based on the on-site environment (such as high dust).
Box material: Priority should be given to selecting box materials with good heat dissipation performance, such as cast iron or cast steel boxes with optimized heat dissipation rib design.
Cooling method: For long-term full load operation or extremely high ambient temperature conditions, additional cooling devices such as forced air cooling fans or water-cooled coils may be required.
4. Clearly communicate with suppliers about special working conditions
This is a crucial step in ensuring accurate selection and avoiding subsequent issues.
When placing an order, it is necessary to clearly state to the supplier that the equipment will operate in a high-temperature environment and provide a specific maximum operating temperature.
Suppliers can provide customized protection, sealing, and lubrication solutions based on your specific needs to ensure the stable operation of the gearbox under specific high-temperature conditions.
In addition, after the reducer is put into use, daily inspections should be strengthened, with a focus on oil temperature (the working oil temperature should usually not exceed 80 ℃), box temperature (usually should not exceed 90 ℃), and operating noise. Once abnormalities are found, the machine should be stopped immediately for inspection.
