How to deal with abnormal noise of TPA250-50 worm gear reducer urgently

Don't panic when encountering abnormal noise from the TPA250-50 gearbox. Follow this process to quickly handle it:

1、 Immediately stop the machine for inspection

Power off hanging: Hang a warning sign that reads' Do not close 'to prevent accidental operation.

Preliminary investigation: Distinguishing sound types using listening needles:

High frequency sharp sound: It may be due to bearing ball breakage or insufficient lubrication.

Low frequency impact sound: Poor gear meshing or worn tooth surface.

2、 Rapid diagnosis three-step method

1. Acoustic auscultation:

Close the listening needle to the box and distinguish the type of noise.

High frequency sharp sound: mostly caused by bearing ball breakage or insufficient lubrication.

Low frequency impact sound: often caused by poor gear meshing or tooth surface wear.

2. Vibration detection:

Collect data using a portable vibration detector.

Gear malfunction: The characteristic frequency is a multiple of the meshing frequency.

Bearing failure: The characteristic frequency is the frequency at which the bearing ball passes through.

3. Oil testing:

Take samples of lubricating oil for ferrographic analysis.

High content of metal particles: indicates severe internal wear.

3、 Emergency maintenance measures

1. Replace core components:

Gear: Provide original factory gears to ensure dimensional accuracy matches material strength.

Bearing: Select P5 grade and above precision bearings, paired with long-lasting lubricating grease.

Sealing element: Replace the aging oil seal to prevent lubrication leakage.

2. On site calibration:

Use a laser alignment instrument to adjust the concentricity of the shaft system and control the deviation within 0.05mm.

Check and tighten all connecting bolts to ensure they are not loose.

4、 Preventive maintenance

1. Regular maintenance:

Monthly: Check bolt tightness, coupling status, and operating parameters (temperature, current).

Quarterly: Disassemble and inspect bearings and add lithium based grease.

Annual: Gear wear inspection and shell inspection.
