The YKK series high voltage squirrel cage induction motor is a box-type, air-to-air cooled high-voltage asynchronous motor widely adopted in heavy industries. Designed for continuous heavy-duty operation, this series covers a broad power range and is built to meet IEC international standards. YKK motors feature a squirrel cage rotor structure, outstanding reliability and simple maintenance, making them the mainstream driving solution for large industrial equipment. The model naming “YKK” stands for high-voltage asynchronous motor with air-to-air cooling and box frame, separating the internal cooling air circuit from external ambient air, which effectively prevents dust and corrosive gas from entering the motor core and windings. Core Technical Parameters

The motor adopts a box welded frame structure, different from traditional cast iron motor housings. The welded box frame has high rigidity, good vibration resistance and lightweight features. The stator core is laminated with high-quality low-loss silicon steel sheets, optimized by finite element electromagnetic simulation to reduce iron loss, magnetic leakage and stray loss. The stator windings use Class F vacuum pressure impregnation (VPI) insulation treatment. After VPI impregnation, the windings form an integrated solid structure, which improves dielectric strength, anti-corona performance and resistance against thermal aging. It can withstand repeated start-up impact and transient voltage fluctuations during long-term operation.

The squirrel cage rotor is manufactured with copper bar or aluminum cage options. Copper bar rotor version delivers higher mechanical strength, lower rotor resistance and better performance under heavy load starting condition. It can bear large starting torque while limiting starting current, which avoids impact on the factory high-voltage power grid. Dynamic balance is precisely calibrated for every rotor assembly to suppress vibration and noise during full-load operation. The bearing system adopts heavy-duty rolling bearings or sliding bearings for large power models, equipped with temperature measuring sensors to monitor bearing temperature in real time. Users can connect monitoring signals to central control system for early warning of overheating risk.

The IC611 air-to-air cooling system is the core feature of YKK motors. Two independent air loops are arranged inside the motor. The internal closed hot air circulates through the air-to-air heat exchanger, exchanging heat with external clean cooling air. Since the internal air circuit is fully sealed, dust, chemical fumes and moisture in the workshop cannot contaminate windings and iron core. This greatly reduces winding fouling and insulation aging rate, extending motor service life and lowering maintenance frequency. Temperature sensors are embedded in stator windings to monitor winding temperature continuously.

YKK series motors are widely applied in many heavy industrial sectors. In cement plants, they drive main fans, raw material mills and kiln transmission equipment. In mining industry, they serve ball mills, crushers and large belt conveyors.
