Which lubrication method applies to high power B3SH7-20-B gear reducer
The lubrication system of the high-power B3SH7-20-B gear reducer normally has the following characteristics and components:
Lubrication method: The selection depends on the peripheral speed of gears. Oil bath lubrication can be adopted when the gear peripheral speed v ≤ 12 m/s. In this mode, gears are submerged in oil. The rotating gears carry oil to the meshing zone for lubrication; meanwhile, oil splashed from the sump onto the housing wall helps dissipate heat. When the gear peripheral speed v > 12 m/s, spray lubrication is recommended. An oil pump delivers lubricant at a pressure of 0.05–0.3 MPa through pipelines, and the oil is sprayed directly onto the meshing surfaces via nozzles.
Lubrication system components: Pump: Electric pumps and mechanical pumps may be equipped. Both supply oil to the system simultaneously to guarantee continuous lubricant delivery.
Filtration unit: Dual-precision filtration is generally applied. When the temperature is below +10°C or the pressure differential across the filter element exceeds 4 bar, the check valve on the filter element opens. Lubricant only passes through 50 μm coarse filtration. When the temperature rises above +10°C or the filter differential pressure drops below 4 bar, the check valve closes. The lubricant flows through both 10 μm and 50 μm filters for dual filtration to ensure clean oil entering the gearbox.
Thermostatic valve: It automatically regulates the flow path of lubricant according to oil temperature. If the oil temperature is lower than 45°C, lubricant flows directly into the gearbox. If the oil temperature exceeds 45°C, lubricant passes through the cooler before entering the gearbox.
Cooler: Air-oil coolers are commonly used to cool lubricant at high oil temperatures, maintaining lubricant performance and normal operating temperature of the gearbox.
Pressure sensors: Pressure sensors are installed at the gearbox inlet and oil pump outlet to monitor lubricant pressure and detect abnormalities of the lubrication system in a timely manner.
Lubricant selection: Suitable lubricant is selected based on operating conditions and requirements of the reducer. N320 medium extreme pressure gear oil can be used for oil bath lubrication, while N220 medium extreme pressure gear oil is suitable for circulating lubrication.
Lubrication system maintenance: Regularly inspect the quality and quantity of lubricant. Verify that the oil remains clean and free of contaminants. Replace the oil promptly if darkening color, viscosity change, strange odor or other deterioration signs are found. Keep the oil level within the normal range and top up lubricant as needed. Inspect the operating status of the lubrication system to ensure proper function of oil pumps, nozzles and other components.
