Daily Maintenance Guide for TPU250-12.5-IF Worm Gear Reducer
The daily maintenance of TPU250-12.5-IF worm gear reducer revolves around three dimensions: lubrication management, status inspection, and cleaning protection. Through regular operation, it prevents wear, overheating, and other problems, extending its service life.Considering the medium to large load characteristics of this model (center distance 250mm, transmission ratio 12.5, specific installation form IF), daily maintenance should focus on the following four modules, with specific operations divided by cycles.
1、 Daily routine inspection: quickly identify basic hidden dangers
Before or during daily startup, take 5-10 minutes to complete basic checks and promptly detect any obvious abnormalities.
1. Running status check:

Listen: Monitor the running noise of the gearbox, which should normally be a smooth "buzzing sound". If there is a "piercing abnormal sound or metal friction sound", it may be due to wear of the worm gear or damaged bearings.
Touch: Touch the surface of the box (non high temperature area) with your hand, and the temperature should be ≤ ambient temperature+40 ℃ (if the environment is 25 ℃, the box should not exceed 65 ℃). If the hand feels hot, it may be due to insufficient lubricating oil or oil deterioration.
Observe the connection between the output shaft and the coupling to see if there is any lubricating oil leakage (such as oil leakage at the shaft end seal). If there is any leakage, record the location and focus on handling it in the future.
2. Oil level and appearance inspection:
Check the oil gauge (or oil level gauge), and the oil level should be between the "highest" and "lowest" marks. If it is lower than the lowest mark, the corresponding type of lubricating oil should be replenished (different oil products cannot be mixed).
Observe the color of the oil. Normal new oil is light yellow (or the color specified by the manufacturer). If the oil becomes dark brown, cloudy, or contains impurities, it is necessary to arrange for oil change in advance.
2、 Weekly key maintenance: deepening status monitoring and cleaning
Arrange a special maintenance of about 30 minutes once a week, focusing on areas that are prone to accumulation of dirt and wear.
1. Cleaning and protection:
Clean the dust and oil stains on the surface of the reducer with compressed air or dry cloth, paying special attention to the heat sink (if any) and ventilation openings to avoid dust blocking and affecting heat dissipation.
Check the anti rust coating (such as paint) on the surface of the box. If there is peeling or rust, apply the same color anti rust paint in a timely manner to prevent the box from being corroded (especially in humid environments).
2. Inspection of connection parts:
a、 Check the connecting bolts between the motor and the reducer, as well as between the reducer and the load equipment, and use a wrench to confirm if they are loose (tighten according to the manufacturer's specified torque, usually 20-30N · m, refer to the manual for details), to prevent looseness from causing concentricity deviation and exacerbating bearing wear.
b、 Check the flanges and brackets corresponding to the installation form of "IF", confirm that there are no gaps or deformations on the installation surface, and adjust with gaskets if there are gaps to avoid additional stress
