Which sealant should be selected for WP series worm gear reducers at different temperatures
1、 Low temperature condition (ambient temperature < -10 ℃)-10 ℃~-25 ℃ Conventional low temperature: Cold resistant modified oil resistant silicone sealant is selected for the joint surface of the box, such as double bond DB9587, with a temperature resistance coverage of -40 ℃~150 ℃. It will not crack hard or brittle at low temperatures and can fill casting gaps of ≤ 0.5mm. When the gap between the end cap flange is ≤ 0.1mm, choose Loctite 510 anaerobic adhesive, which can withstand temperatures of -54 ℃~150 ℃ and maintain rigid locking at low temperatures.
-Extreme cold working conditions from 25 ℃ to -40 ℃: Use fluorosilicone sealant to completely avoid the problem of low-temperature rebound failure of ordinary adhesives; Before assembly, the sealing components need to be reheated in a warm environment, and the interference fit of the adhesive layer should be increased by 5% to 8% compared to normal temperature conditions to compensate for low-temperature cold shrinkage.
2、 Normal temperature conditions (-10 ℃~100 ℃, the vast majority of conventional scenarios)

This is the most commonly used temperature range for WP series reducers, with the highest selection fault tolerance:
The interface of the box is made of ordinary oil resistant silicone adhesive, which fully covers the area with oil and temperature resistance, and has high cost-effectiveness.
Small gaps such as bearing end caps and flanges are statically sealed using universal anaerobic adhesive, which does not flow after curing and has stable anti loosening and anti leakage effects.
3、 High temperature condition (continuous oil temperature>100 ℃)
100 ℃~150 ℃ medium high temperature: Choose high-temperature oil resistant silicone sealant, with a temperature resistant coverage of -60 ℃~200 ℃, to avoid high-temperature softening and leakage of ordinary adhesive.
Extreme high temperature range of 150 ℃~200 ℃: Fluorine rubber based high-temperature sealant must be selected to completely replace ordinary nitrile system rubber and prevent rapid hardening and cracking of the adhesive layer; Used in conjunction with fluororubber oil seals, the overall sealing system is temperature resistant and synchronously matched.
For special working conditions exceeding 200 ℃, high-temperature and high-pressure resistant inorganic sealant is selected, with a maximum temperature resistance of 815 ℃, suitable for heavy-duty metallurgy and continuous full load operation scenarios.
4、 Precautions for alternating working conditions across temperature zones
Outdoor WP reducers with a temperature difference of more than 40 ℃ between day and night are prohibited from using rigid anaerobic adhesive alone. Modified silane elastic sealant is preferred, which can simultaneously counteract the deformation caused by low-temperature shrinkage and high-temperature expansion, and avoid repeated tensile cracking of the adhesive layer.
